Overwintered parsnips harvest!
The lambs want you to visit them at our open house today from 1-4. We’re also boiling syrup!
They really like to sleep in the feeders.
Our first lambs arrived this morning, just in time for CSA sign-up day! One of the many perks of joining our CSA is a weekly excuse to visit the lambs! #CSAday #lambs #vermont
Tomorrow is CSA day! Are you ready? Sign-up link is in our profile. #CSAday
I’ll show this picture to her on a HLD (heavy lamb day) when she’s covered in amniotic fluid and shit and has been up all night, just to remind her how excited she gets before they start coming...
Early evening ski through the upper fields. It’s fun to see a mostly unobstructed winter view of the barn from all the way up there.
Sad to see all this snow disappear but look at all that green!
Leek harvest this afternoon
@sayerpalmer saying goodbye to our favorite ram, Star Star #rollingstones ;)
His work is done here and he’s heading home. We’ll miss him but not as much as the ladies will...
We re-installed the row cover wires today for our winter hoop house production. When in use the wires run the length of the house along each bed and in the summer they’re stored up on the collar ties in a simple contraption we call “the guitar”. This picture is the guitar’s perspective.
Okra in Vermont! Hoops make it happen.
Cleaned the lower leafs off the tomato plants today to improve airflow, and soon we will begin coiling the vines to give them even more room to grow. Looking pretty good!
The onion harvest is starting, slowly but surely! First we harvest the fresh onions, Red Long of Tropes, sweet Ailsa Craig, and these Bianca Di Maggio cippolini onions. Meanwhile the storage onions continue to grow and cure, to be distributed and stored throughout the fall months.
Harvesting big beautiful carrots for today's CSA distribution
Garlic harvest in three acts: undercutting, pulling, and the finished harvest. Tomorrow we will collect and put in the greenhouse to cure.
They're coming!!
Sheep, summer evening. Sometimes it's hard to focus on anything but the scenery.
Next block of greens coming in. Glamour shot before we start hacking at it...
Day of the tomato!! Super excited to transplant all these gorgeous plants on such a gorgeous day.
